The Mesh Mane Tamer will keep the mane under control while at the show!  No need to use a halter to hold it in place. The fully adjustable neck straps keep the mane laying flat as it dries, “training” the mane and keeping stray hairs in place.  Want to make an adjustment to your bands? Just slip your hands underneath—there’s no need to take it completely off. Makes banding and braiding quicker and easier than ever before!

We designed every mesh Mane Tamer to provide a comfortable fit. Comes with three adjustable, soft-elastic neck-straps with buckle closure. Also, you also have your choice of an easy-to-fasten ABS side-release buckle or Velcro closure at the horse’s girth.

Easy on/Easy off

In general, most horses tolerate things around their head and neck.  Therefore, putting on your horse’smane tamer is easy to do.  Open the throatlatch Velcro and unbuckle the neck buckles.   Lay the middle of the mane tamer over the mane. Close and tighten the throatlatch Velcro, otherwise, the neck portion may slide. If you have an overlap of the Velcro, trim the excess. Then, close the girth elastic. Lastly, adjust the elastic bands on the neck using the slider adjustments. Finally, it should fit smooth like swimwear but not too tight to create a rub.

Care

Because these Mane Tamers contain 80% nylon/ 20% Lycra, they are machine washable. Air dries in a jiffy. Also, follow our simple Care Instructions for best results.

What Makes Moisture Wicking Mesh so Special

Moisture-wicking mesh is ideal because it allows maximum freedom of movement and makes an excellent hot weather outer covering.

Moisture-wicking fly mesh features a body-hugging 4-way stretch that is very breathable. It will keep your horse dry when he sweats. These are the most versatile outdoor fabrics available today. This fabric has a  soft inner layer that pulls moisture away from the skin keeping your horse dry, cool and comfortable.

How does this work? Moisture and high humidity next to the skin cause discomfort.  Performance mesh will keep the skin dry because the fabric is very breathable and does not restrict the movement of moisture vapor.  When the fabric’s inner surface touches the horse’s body it will draw off the sweat. Sweat is wicked off the skin to the outside of the fabric, where it spreads rapidly for evaporation. This enables it to dry at least twice as fast as cotton. Because of this wicking action, your horse will stay cool and dry.

When used under looser fitting non-stretch fly mesh hood and sheets, it prevents rubbing  Keep your horse dry and comfortable while protecting and polishing the hair coat.
