Design your horse shoulder slinky to fit your needs! Every shoulder slinky comes with a Velcro® closure on an extra-wide and extra-comfortable girth strap or you can add an ABS side-release buckle. You can upgrade the girth elastic to heavy-duty woven elastic. Not only can you add a center yoke between the front legs, but we can make it extra-wide for more protection against flies.

In general, most horses tolerate things around their heads. Therefore, putting on your horse’s shoulder guard is easy to do. First, open the girth. With both hands, gather the sleazy like you are getting ready to put on a sock. Then, put your horse’s head through the opening. The neck opening is the large opening without the girth elastic. Slide the shoulder sleazy down to the shoulders. Close the girth strap on the left side.  Your shoulder slinky should fit smoothly, like swimwear, on the horse’s shoulders. Otherwise, if it is too tight, it could create a rub.
This mesh Lycra shoulder guard contains 80% nylon/ 20% mesh Lycra fabric.  Accordingly, it is machine washable and air dries fast. Also, follow our simple Care Instructions for best results. Launder the sleazy shoulder guard at least once a month to prevent bacteria build-up.
What Makes Moisture Wicking Mesh so Special
Moisture-wicking mesh is ideal because it allows maximum freedom of movement and makes an excellent hot-weather outer covering.
Moisture-wicking fly mesh features a body-hugging 4-way stretch that is very breathable. It will keep your horse dry when he sweats. These are the most versatile outdoor fabrics available today. This fabric has a soft inner layer that pulls moisture away from the skin keeping your horse dry, cool, and comfortable.
How does this work? Moisture and high humidity next to the skin cause discomfort.  Performance mesh will keep the skin dry because the fabric is very breathable and does not restrict the movement of moisture vapor.  When the fabric’s inner surface touches the horse’s body it will draw off the sweat. Sweat is wicked off the skin to the outside of the fabric. When the sweat reaches the outside of the fabric, it spreads out to many times its original surface area, enabling your horse will stay cool and dry.
When used under looser fitting non-stretch fly mesh hood and sheets, it prevents rubbing Keep your horse dry and comfortable while protecting and polishing the hair coat.

Love these shoulder guards – they are proving to be the best solution to covering my horse’s chest issue. He has a large sarcoid on the front of his chest, which spreads out above his right front leg. It is very difficult to keep covered and he messes with it whenever it isn’t covered. Your super wide center yoke was the solution to my problem.
