Crafted from premium 4-way stretch Polartec Power Fleece, this shoulder slicker has a smooth outer shell with soft and warm fleece on the inside. Perfect for layering under your winter blanket especially if your horse is trace clipped. Neck opening is sized right so there is nothing exposed to get wet. Put an end to those ugly rubs.

Design your fleece lined horse shoulder guard to fit your needs! This horse shoulder guard comes with a Velcro® closure on an extra-wide and extra-comfortable girth strap or, you can add an ABS side-release buckle. You have the option to upgrade the girth elastic to premium woven elastic. Likewise, you can add a center yoke between the front legs. In addition, you have the choice between the regular width center yoke or the extra-wide yoke for more coverage.

Easy on/Easy off

In general, most horses tolerate things around their heads. Therefore, putting on your horse’s shoulder guard is easy to do. Open the girth closure. With both hands, gather the shoulder guard as if you are ready to put on a sock. The neck opening is the large opening without the long elastic. Then, put your horse’s head through the neck opening. Slide it down the neck to the shoulders. Close the girth strap on the left side. Finally, your sleazy should fit smoothly, like swimwear, on the horse’s shoulders but, not so tight to create a rub.

Shoulder Guard Care

The fleece-lined horse shoulder guard contains 54% polyester/ 34% nylon/ 12% spandex fabric. Therefore, it is machine washable. Air dries fast. Also, follow our simple Care Instructions for best results. Wash the shoulder slicker at least once a month to prevent bacteria buildup.

Polartec Power Stretch fleece provides maximum freedom of movement and clean profiles. As such, it is an ideal fabric. Adaptable to changing weather conditions, Polartec Power Stretch makes an excellent warm outer covering.

Polartec Power Stretch fleece features a body-hugging 4-way stretch that is very breathable. It will keep your horse dry when he sweats and provides warmth without weight. These are the most versatile outdoor fabrics available today. This fabric features a proprietary construction with two unique surfaces: the durable nylon outer layer is wind and abrasion-resistant; the soft inner layer pulls moisture away from the skin keeping your horse dry, warm, and comfortable.

How does this work? Moisture and high humidity next to the skin cause discomfort. Polartec fleece will keep the skin dry because the fabric is very breathable and does not restrict the movement of moisture vapor. When the fabric’s inner surface touches the horse’s body it will draw off the sweat. The fabric wicks the sweat off the skin. There, it spreads rapidly for evaporation. When the sweat reaches the outside of the fabric, it spreads out to many times its original surface area, enabling it to dry at least twice as fast as cotton.

Polartec Power Stretch fleece provides warmth without the weight and bulk of traditional insulating fabrics. It is also wind-resistant to reduce the effect of wind chill. When used under looser fitting winter blankets, it prevents rubbing. Keep your horse warm and comfortable besides protecting and polishing the hair coat.
